By a vote of 22-16, and with no discussion, the Senate has voted to override the Governor's veto of HB 312.

Lest there be any ingering doubt about whether it weakens the existing open records laws:

HB 312 will create new requirements for requesting records, impose new restrictions on access to public records, extend statutory deadlines for agency response to five business days, and vest the LRC and General Assembly with unfettered discretion to deny requests.

Draw your own conclusions.
