The Kentucky Attorney General issued the following open records decisions last week:
1. 24-ORD-237 (In re: Alex Rib/Louisville Metro Government)
Summary: The Louisville Metro Government violated the Open Records Act when it required the Appellant to complete a commercial purpose form even though the Appellant had stated each of his requests did not have a commercial purpose.

2. 24-ORD-238 (In re: Jack Elsner/City of Paducah)
Summary: The City of Paducah violated the Open Records Act when it failed to respond to a request within five business days of receiving it. The City did not violate the Act when it denied a request for public records on the basis of residency

3. 24-ORD-239 (In re: Tanyqua Oliver/Fayette County Public Schools)
Summary: Fayette County Public Schools did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for a copy of school surveillance video under KRS 61.878(1)(k) and 20 U.S.C. § 1232g when the video recorded multiple students. FCPS also did not violate the Act when it did not provide records it does not possess or when it requested that the Appellant make an appointment to inspect records in person.
