An update on yesterday's post about Lawrence Trageser's open records triple: 1. receipt of records; 2. published appellate opinion excoriating the City of Taylorsville for weaponizing the open records law; and 3. award of penalties and attorneys fees totaling $54,000.
Jeremy S. Rogers — a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl, Kentucky Open Government Coalition Director, and Trageser's attorney in the case — advises us that the court today confirmed that Taylorsville has mailed him a check in the amount of $54,000.
The legal action is concluded but it's outcome will have a positive impact on future open records analysis.
