The. Kentucky Attorney General issued the following open records decisions last week:

1. 21-ORD-184 (In re: Lynette Warner/Graves County School Board)

Summary: The Graves County School Board violated the Open Records Act when it did not respond to a request to inspect records.

2. 21-ORD-185 (In re: Barry King/Kentucky Horse Racing Commission)

Summary: The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission did not violate the Open Records Act when it did not produce for inspection a record that does not exist in its possession.

3. 21-ORD-186 (In re: Garth Avery/City of Tompkinsville)

Summary: Because the City of Tompkinsville ("the City") failed to respond to an open records request within five business days, it subverted the intent of the Open Records Act ("the Act") within the meaning of KRS 61.880(4).

4. 21-ORD-187 (In re: Leonel Martinez/Kentucky State Penitentiary)

Summary: The Kentucky State Penitentiary did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request to provide information or to provide a record that does not exist.
