If enacted, HB 222 will prevent people from using courts, and potential threats of a lawsuit, to intimidate people who are exercising their First Amendment rights, including the right of access to information through public records laws. Co-sponsored by Kulkarni, a Democrat, and Rep. Jason Nemes, a Republican, HB 222 passed by a committee vote of 8-1 and will move to the full Senate for consideration.
