These open records and open meetings decisions were issued by the Kentucky Attorney General last week::

1. 21-ORD-072 (In re: Stephanos Kyrkanides/University of Kentucky)

Summary: The University of Kentucky did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for copies of employee performance evaluations under KRS 61.878(1)(a).

2. 21-OMD-073 (In re: Jason Reed/City of Cold Spring)

Summary: The city of Cold Spring violated the Open Meetings Act when it failed to provide notice that a special meeting would be conducted by video teleconference.

3. 21-OMD-074 (In re: Lawrence Trageser/Spencer County Fiscal Court)

Summary: The Spencer County Fiscal Court violated the Open Meetings Act when a magistrate attended a video teleconferenced meeting with his video turned off.

4. 21-ORD-075 (In re: Jonathan Fannin/Louisville Metro Police Department)

Summary: The Louisville Metro Police Department did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request that sought information instead of copies of public records.

5. 21-ORD-076 (In re: Lawrence Trageser/Kentucky State Police)

Summary: Kentucky State Police violated the Open Records Act when it improperly invoked KRS 61.872(5) and did not provide a detailed explanation of the cause for delay or the earliest date on which records would be made available for inspection. KSP did not violate the Act when it redacted certain information under KRS 61.878(1)(a) or when it did not provide records that do not exist in its possession.

6. 21-ORD-077 (In re: WDRB News/Transportation Cabinet)

Summary: Because the Transportation Cabinet failed to respond to an open records request within ten days, it violated the Open Records Act as modified by Senate Bill 150.
