The Kentucky Attorney General issued the following open records and open meetings decisions last week:

1. 22-ORD-192 (In re: Steven Logan/Little Sandy Correctional Complex)

Summary: The Little Sandy Correctional Complex did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for JPay messages because the request did not describe public records to be inspected.

2. 22-ORD-193 (In re: Darryl Barnes/Roederer Correctional Complex)

Summary: This Office cannot find that the Roederer Correctional Complex violated the Open Records Act when it failed to respond to a request under the Act that it claims it never received.

3. 22-ORD-194 (In re: Lynette Warner/Graves County School District)

Summary: The Graves County School District violated the Open Records Act when it did not issue a response to a request submitted under the Act within five business days of receiving the request.

4. 22-ORD-195 (In re: Jose Menjivar/Western Kentucky Correctional Complex)

Summary: The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for records posing a security threat under KRS 197.025(1).

5. 22-ORD-196 (In re: Gustavo Andres/Western Kentucky Correctional Complex)

Summary: The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for records posing a security threat under KRS 197.025(1).

6. 22-OMD-197 (In re: Gail Smith/City of Bromley)

Summary: The City of Bromley violated the Open Meetings Act when it did not issue a timely response to a complaint submitted under the Act within three business days.

7. 22-ORD-198 (In re: Rusty Weddle/Kentucky State Penitentiary)

Summary: The Kentucky State Penitentiary did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request for records the release of which could constitute a security threat, KRS 197.025(1), or when it denied a request for pending grievances that retain preliminary status under KRS 61.878(1)(j).

8. 22-ORD-199 (In re: Anthony Sadler/Little Sandy Correctional Complex)

Summary: The Little Sandy Correctional Complex did not violate the Open Records Act when it did not provide copies of e-mails to which it does not have access.
