The Kentucky Attorney General issued the following open records decisions last week:

1. 21-ORD-114 (In re: Gary Dillard/Christian County Sheriff's Office)

Summary: The Christian County Sheriff's Office did not violate the Open Records Act when it did not provide records that do not exist in its possession.

2. 21-ORD-115 ( In re: Anonymous/Kentucky State Police)

Summary: The Kentucky State Police did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request to inspect records that did not contain a signature or a legibly printed name under KRS 61.872(2)(a).

3. 21-ORD-116 (In re: Stephen McBride/Montgomery County Clerk)

Summary: The Montgomery County Clerk did not violate the Open Records Act in failing to respond to a request it allegedly never received.

4. 21-ORD-117 (In re: Andy Russell/Louisville Metro Police Department)

Summary: Louisville Metro Police Department violated the Open Records Act, as modified by Senate Bill 150, when it failed to respond to a request to inspect records within ten calendar days. The Department did not violate the Act when it denied a request to inspect a photograph of an employee under KRS 61.878(1)(a).
