This is in answer to your letter of September 19 concerning the counting of "write-in" votes in which you present the following facts and question:
"We, the Nicholas County Board of Elections, have a question in regard to write-in votes. In our local City Council race there are six to be elected, and only four filed.
"There will no doubt be a write-in campaign to elect the other two. We would like to know the correct procedure in counting of a name for a write-in. Does a name have to be written the same to be counted?
"Example: A man's name is John T. Jones - can this be written J. T. Jones, or J. Jones, or any number of various ways and still be counted. . . ."
