In the "Survey of Civic Literacy," conducted by the American Bar Association, we see there is widespread ignorance of our core freedoms as Americans and of the way government functions. But among the more encouraging findings, the survey reports that more than 8 in 10 people (in a survey of 1,000) do believe "that we should have the right to ask for government records and information."
