"Elected officials make a decision behind closed doors, against state Open Meetings laws, and later backpedal and try to pretend it didn't happen.
"You are sure that a decision should have been made in public, during a properly noticed meeting. And you are also certain the officials are capable of having authentic, robust discussions about public business â something their constituents deserve to witness.
"Rubber stamping a decision already made previously isn't transparent and it doesn't remedy the situation.
"You can't rectify this, absent acquiring a time machine to go back to that closed-door session and having someone who participated in the meeting say, "Wait a minute, shouldn't we be discussing this in public?"
