The publisher of Frankfort's State Journal weighs in on the House's recent affront to transparency in passing a bill purportedly aimed at enhancing transparency. The arguments running counter to those advanced in support of shifting the responsibility for publishing legal advertisements from newspapers to public agencies are compelling.

Those counterarguments must not be dismissed on the hackneyed pretext of cost saving.
