In other news, Amye Bensenhaver yielded her right of free speech to her betters — former Danville Advocate Messenger editor and current editorial director for Landmark Community Newspapers, John Nelson, and Kentucky Open Government Coalition Director, First Amendment and open government scholar and advocate, Jeremy Rogers — at the September 25 meeting of the Frankfort Rotary Club.

Rogers and Nelson led a spirited discussion on the State of the First Amendment as Bensenhaver listened in humble admiration.

All are recipients of the University of Kentucky Scripps Howard First Amendment Center James Madison Award, but Bensenhaver may be asked to return hers.

Sincere thanks to the Frankfort Rotary Club for extending the invitation to Coalition Directors Jeremy Rogers and Amye Bensenhaver and their mutual hero, John Nelson.
