Here is the most recent development in the ongoing saga(s) of Kentucky States Police versus . . . well, everybody . . . in its ongoing effort to avoid disclosure of internal affairs investigative files documenting trooper misconduct.

WDRB has petitioned the Franklin Circuit Court for penalties and attorneys' fees —per the court's directive — as KSP initiated an appeal of the court's order that it violated the open records law in the same case. More litigation, more taxpayer dollars squandered on litigation aimed at delaying — or avoiding altogether — public scrutiny.

I hope someone is keeping track of the multiple appeals currently pending in the attorney general's office, the circuit court, and the appellate courts. This is mind boggling!
