A final question on Presidents' Day:

Where do the candidates in the 2020 presidential election stand on freedom of information, public records laws, and open government?

Last November, MuckRock — a non-profit, collaborative news site that "requests, analyzes, and shares government documents, making politics more transparent and democracies more informed" — solicited comments from the presidential candidates and compiled a transparency "dossier" from available sources on each candidate.

Some candidates have since withdrawn from, and some have entered, the race.

MuckRock's findings?

"Most of the candidates support expanding FOIA: in general, to the White House, or even to Congress. Some candidates are frequent FOIA requesters themselves. Some (okay, one) wrote to us paragraphs about a belief in freedom of information. Others didn't have anything to say at all (though that didn't prevent them from adding us to their mailing lists)."
