Coverage of today's rescheduled Jefferson County Public Schools Board of Education meeting from the Courier Journal:

"Tuesday's abridged [JCPS board] meeting comes as rowdy public comment periods play out across the country and threats toward school district leaders prompt calls for federal investigations.

"U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday said federal authorities will work with state and local entities to address 'a disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence' against school board members and educators.

"More than 30 people signed up to address the board Tuesday night. About seven people got to speak before the meeting was recessed.

"As a public body, school boards are required to open their meetings to the public under state law. But they are not required to have a public comment portion during those meetings."
