Courier Journal sportswriter Tim Sullivan ruminates on the apparent conclusion of the personnel shakeup at the university of Louisville two hours ago:

"Neeli Bendapudi pledged transparency and has delivered opacity.

"On consecutive days, the president of the University of Louisville declined to explain how a board meeting met the legal requirements to be conducted behind closed doors and why athletic director Vince Tyra's non-compete clause was waived to facilitate his taking a job with an Atlantic Coast Conference competitor.

"Both moves may well have plausible and possibly persuasive rationales, but Bendapudi has yet to share them with her curious constituents. The result is continued speculation, unfounded conspiracy theories, angered alumni and puzzled employees.

"So much for the high-minded promise Dr. Bendapudi made upon taking office on Aug. 21, 2018."
