Coincidence?

Citing it's burdensomeness and the cost to taxpayers, several New Jersey municipalities have adopted resolutions calling for a reexamination of New Jersey's Open Public Records Act "based on a form resolution provided by the New Jersey League of Municipalities."

The Kentucky League of Cities recently advanced the same arguments in support of its 2020 legislative agenda. That agenda includes revisions to the open records and meetings law that would, among other things, restrict use of Kentucky's open records laws to Kentucky residents only.

Such restrictions, which exist in only a handful of state open records laws, have proven cumbersome, difficult to enforce, and ineffective.
