Cincinnati's WVXU brings together representatives from the media, the law, and local government to discuss the current status of Ohio's Sunshine laws in the wake of city scandals involving use of private devices to conduct public business.

Ohio law now firmly establishes that such discussions on private devices are public records.

A timely issue in light of the Kentucky Attorney General's disastrous decision — issued on July 19 — declaring that emails and texts concerning public business exchanged by public officials on their private devices are not public records—an invitation to open records and open meetings abuse if ever there was one.
